爭取香港民主、社會福利與社工專業的發展，及政策研究和倡議的工作，是我過往多年來在工作的重點。由於曾為立法局/會議員，故較為掌握政府政策制訂與運作，所以亦採取在建制與民間的內外配合，寸土必爭的策略。我希望可以透過社福界選舉委員會代表的身分，爭取2012特首選舉的候選人，就未來香港民主、社會福利及社工專業發展中作出承諾，更為這幾方面日後的發展訂立指標。

Policy research and advocacy, striving for the development of democracy, social welfare and the social work profession have always been the focus of my work. Having been a LegCo member, I have a better understanding of the formulation and implementation of government policies, and, hence, adopted a collaborative approach and a reformative strategy in policy advocacy. I hope, through being a member of the Election Committee, to ensure that the future candidates for the 2012 CE election to commit themselves to the development of democracy, social welfare, and the social work professions and to set up the relevant targets for such developments.
